Can't launch XBMC

  • after moving my xbox from it's shelf and back again i am no longer able to luanch xbmc. i normally launch it from the evox dashboard but now xbmc appears in red writing and it isn't possible to select it. i thought that maybe the connection from my chip to the d0 point had come loose when moving the xbox but after taking it apart and checking, it seems to be ok.
    does anyone have any idea what could be wrong?

  • use logic.
    it's not your chip, because the chip works if anything else than the original dash shows up. the reason that xbmc shows up in red writing, is that evox dash does not find xbmc in the filepath it looks in. maby you moved the xbmc folder?
    normal path for xbmc can be
    e:\apps\xbmc
    f:\apps\xbmc

    don't remember what path evox looks in.


  • yep, used logic. apps folder had somehow been deleted (not sure how it could've happened). problem solved thanks.


  • if it's in red, then it can't find the file, so it must be specified in your evox.ini.

    ftp to your box, and take a peek at evox.ini (in the root of c), make sure this matches where your xbmc default.xbe is.

    also, make sure you actually have a default.xbe. i've found sometimes that a build fails, but all other files etc get copied and rared up without error. so i think i've got a new xbmc build, but there's no executable there :)
