Do you believe this about the grammys...?

  • I think the Grammys are nothing more than some gigantic promotional machine for the music industry. They cater to a low intellect and they feed the masses. They don't honor the arts or the artist for what he created. It's the music business celebrating itself. That's basically what it's all about......this is about the 8 grammy nominations of a certain "artist"

  • Yep... I recently read that for ALL the award shows, including the Grammys, ratings have been going down for years. I wouldn't be surprised if they just nominated him to get all the preteen girls to watch. The Grammys may have been good once, but now everything that happens is just to boost ratings.


  • not true, plenty of good artists have won grammys, like...

    Common, Chamillionaire, Kanye, & Lupe

    but yea, alot of other "bad" artists win, I think UGK should have won with "International Player's Anthem (Feat. Outkast)

    oh, I think T.I. won too, but yea, i think its all fixed to get ratings from all the kids who listen to the radio crap music


  • it's more of a rant than a question, but that's ok. there is nothing the entertainment industry likes to do more than give itself awards. grammys, tonys, oscars, espys, emmys, whatever. the award goes to whoever makes the most money for the advertisers. lil wayne is up for 8 of these things because he made the right people lots of money.


  • i agree with the first answer as well but some artist do win awards they do deserve like lupe fiasco, kanye west, common, etc
