Would taking a linguistics course as an elective help me with learning arabic; I just started this semester?

  • in a round about way. i took a linguistics course in college and it helped me learn where words come from, how a sentence is constructed, and what parts of the brain are used when you speak to someone. while it didn't help me learn french, it was very interesting. i would definitely recommend it!


  • Yes, I think it could help. You will understand more about the structure of language and the various sounds of various languages. That will help you to understand more about a language as dissimilar to English as Arabic.
